Welcome to WWW Wednesday! It was originally hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm but is now run by Taking On A World Of Words.
WWW Wednesday is simple, just answer 3 questions about reading:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
You can post a link to your blog on Taking On A World of Word’s blog post for the week so other readers can see what you’re working on, and check out your blog!
Since I’m not crushing tons of books at break neck speed due to school starting, I’ll only be posting WWW Wednesday when I have updates to share. Without further ado, lets get started.
What are you currently reading?
I’m still plugging away slowly at The Golden Enclaves by Naomi Novik. I wanted to finish it by now but things got a little away from me with school this week, plus the Mariner’s game went 18 innings on Saturday night so I was completely distracted. I’m committing to reading an hour each night before bed this week so I can feel some progress.
I started Fried Chicken & Fangs by Bella Falls on audiobook this morning which is book 2 of this week’s Library Week Challenge. I’m enjoying this series so far! Very cozy and perfect for a Halloween theme.
What did you recently finish reading?
I finished listening to Moonshine & Magic by Bella Falls earlier this week – it was a super quick audiobook. It was silly, fun, full of supernatural characters, and truly enjoyable. I did have a hard time separating the character of Charli from Sookie Stackhouse thanks to the narrator being the same, but that was okay… it was sort of like an alternate reality read.
What do you think you’ll read next?
Since Halloween is less than 2 weeks away, I’m going to try and finish something that fits the theme of the holiday. I thought about listening to Bird Box by Josh Malerman, but decided that I’m too much of a wimp to subject myself to a fright right now, so I’ve landed on trying to finish my Dracula by Bram Stoker audiobook. I started it a long time ago after buying it on Audible, but found that I really dislike the narrator they chose for the story – he’s just too peppy sounding for what’s supposed to be a horror classic. I’m thinking I can probably get through it by the 31st if I just do a little listening each day. We’ll see how it turns out!
Well, that about wraps it up for WWW Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by!

Hope you manage to endure the narrator reading Dracula. I tried it a few years ago on audio and found it really boring. I think the narrator was alright though. 😂

I have The Horror Collection on Audible which includes Dracula. I think it’s narrated by Michael Stewart. He just sounds so excited and giddy when narrating this particular story. It doesn’t really sound like it fits. Maybe your version was better… do you know who the narrator was? I could check it out!

I’m sorry I can’t remember as it was years ago.

I need to get a copy of The Golden Enclaves as I really want to know how that series all ends up.

I’m picky with audiobook narrators because their voice really has to match the tone and theme of the book to fit well
