Welcome to WWW Wednesday! It was originally hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm but is now run by Taking On A World Of Words.
WWW Wednesday is simple, just answer 3 questions about reading:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
You can post a link to your blog on Taking On A World of Word’s blog post for the week so other readers can see what you’re working on, and check out your blog!
Since I’m not crushing tons of books at break neck speed due to school, I’ll only be posting WWW Wednesday when I have updates to share. Without further ado, lets get started.
What are you currently reading?
I ended up losing my Dune library check out on Libby and couldn’t renew it so I browsed the virtual stacks and found Gallant by VE Schwab. I’m only 12% but its sort of interesting so far. I didn’t realize it was focused on a girl who is only a teen, but I’ll stick with it for now and see what happens after she’s whisked away from the orphanage she’s at at the beginning of the book. I do think that her situation is interesting, with her being mute but also seeing ghouls, although her story is super sad.
I had to pause Dune by Frank Herbert again. I’m only reading this in between other books so its slow progress. I want to savor it since it’s super interesting and I’m enjoying the world building. I should get it from the library again shortly so I’m still considering this a “read in progress”.
At work, I’m listening to The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. I’m only 2:30 into the book, but it’s been interesting so far. I do love the narrator they chose, Leslie Manville, she does a brilliant job of bringing the story to life. Plus, how could you go wrong with any book recorded in a British accent!?
What did you recently finish reading?
This week, I finished The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling. This was a middle-of-the-road junk food type of book for me. It was cheesy, tropey, and slightly annoying, but I enjoyed it as a quick read anyways. I gave it 3 out of 5 for my review, which was more than I though at the half way point. Check out my review of The Ex Hex here..
What do you think you’ll read next?
I would like to take some time to finish the books I have going right now, but I think that I’m going to split up The Thursday Murder Club and start a re-listen to something from my Audible library. I probably won’t finish it, but I’ve felt like a cozy read, and since it’s now November, I feel like I’m entitled to a re-listen of something special. I’ll choose between these titles, depending on my mood this week:
- Welcome to Night Vale by Jeffrey Cranor and Joseph Fink
- Rhythm of War by Brandon Sanderson (just the last 1/4)
- The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
- HP & the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling
- Fallen Dragon by Peter F. Hamilton
Well, that about wraps it up for WWW Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by!
