Welcome to WWW Wednesday! It was originally hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm but is now run by Taking On A World Of Words.
WWW Wednesday is simple, just answer 3 questions about reading:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
You can post a link to your blog on Taking On A World of Word’s blog post for the week so other readers can see what you’re working on, and check out your blog!
Since I’m not crushing tons of books at break neck speed due to school, I’ll only be posting WWW Wednesday when I have updates to share. Without further ado, lets get started.
What are you currently reading?
Kindle Unlimited had a deal so I resubbed and picked up A Soul to Keep by Opal Reyne. It’s the first in the Duskwalker Brides series. I wouldn’t say I’m into, uh, monster romance, but very occasionally I’ll read one because I do think monsters are interesting and they are fun to read like junk food. I grabbed this one because a couple years ago, I tried reading The Ancient Magus Bride manga by Kore Yamazaki. It didn’t hit it off with me, which was disappointing because I thought the Magus was intriguing, so I was happy to give A Soul to Keep a try. Thus far, it’s been fun.
My library hold on Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher came available today! So, I’m starting on that one tonight. I’ve wanted to read this for quite some time. I’ve liked everything of hers so far, and expect this one to be a wonderful treat as well.
I’m currently bouncing between 3 audiobooks and a podcast right now. Cozy (for me) re-listens: Fallen Dragon by Peter F. Hamilton, narrated by John Lee and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, narrated by Jim Dale. Having a great narrator is about 70% of the requirement for deciding whether an audiobook is good or not. These ones are top of their class with excellent, unique voices that are comfortable and relaxing. My new audiobook read is The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman, which to be honest, after 45%, I think I’m going to shelve this one for a future try-again. There are just way too many characters to keep track of and the narrator does a poor job differentiating between a few of them. Hard to listen to so I’ll do a physical version later.
What did you recently finish reading?
This week, I finished Gallant by V.E. Schwab. I thought this one was pretty good. I liked the gothic feel of it, the MC was interesting and little unusual. I felt that the ending could have been better. I gave it 4 out of 5 for my review, and I recommend checking it out. Check out my review of Gallant here..
What do you think you’ll read next?
I’m waiting on Death Troopers by Joe Schreiber from the library so once that comes available, it’ll be up next.
Well, that about wraps it up for WWW Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by!

Sorry to hear that you’re not enjoying The Thursday Murder Club. I’ve had it on my TBR forever, but I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews on it lately.

I was into it for the first quarter but there were just way too many characters to keep track of while listening to it. I think it’d be much better and easier to follow if I read it. It seems really popular right now, I think my library has a hold time on it of 77 days.
