I figured why not finish the other STEMinist novella in this trio. And guess what? I really liked it.
Mara inherits half a house. The house is also owned by Liam, who immediately tries to buy her out of her part, but since it was left to Mara by a dear friend and mentor, she is determined to keep it. This puts Mara and Liam under the same roof and initially at odds with each other, mostly thanks to Liam being grumpy and cold. Over the course of 6-months together, the iciness begins to melt away and the two find themselves unsure about their feelings for each other, leading to a warm climax.
Personally, I liked this one more than the other two in the trio. It had a good mix of grumpy but determined Liam and clumsy, mostly oblivious Mara. The build up to romance was slow and any real action between the couple doesn’t happen until the last several pages (but it was well worth the wait).
I gave this book 4 out of 5. I’m going to get this one on Audible so I can listen to it again in the future!

One response to “Book Review – Under One Roof”
[…] What did you recently finish reading? This week, I finished Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher. I very much enjoyed this fairytale type of story. It was more true to fairytales than what Disney puts out and I appreciated the danger and dark edges it had. Kingfisher is a great storyteller and worldbuilder so if you like her work, be sure to pick this one up. Check out my review of Nettle & Bone here.I also finished The Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah. It was good and had a lot of potential but the execution got lost somewhere. Check out my review of The Stardust Thief here. And, to complete the set I finished the novellas Stuck with You by Ali Hazelwood and Under One Roof by Ali Hazelwood. I really enjoyed this little series of stories and can’t wait for my holds to come read at the library for her longer length books. Check out my review of Stuck with You here and my review of Under One Roof here. […]
