This week’s prompt submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer.

This week’s Book Blogger Hop prompt for Nov 18th – 24th is:
“Do you like writing short or long reviews?”
Answer: I used to only write short reviews because I was lazy and didn’t care if anyone read them. But over the last year, I’ve started writing longer ones with more details, thoughts, and information about the book. I don’t ramble on and on, I like to keep it more concise but I do like to share what I think!
I have come across a few reviewers who do simple themed reviews that are short, like using “Do I recommend? Yes or No” and the review body would be only a single word: yes or no. Interesting, but not very helpful. I’ve also seen reviews that are way too long. Like, I have to scroll down to keep reading. There’s such a thing as too much information. You’re writing a review, not a complete summary of the book.
I also generally don’t care for reviews on Goodreads that contain a lot of pictures or gifs. They are occasionally funny, but most times just annoying and I have trouble taking reviews that use 10 gifs to show how they feel about a book or character.
What about you, do you write long reviews? Or do you keep it short and to the point?
