February this year is a big one in our household. Our oldest is turning 18 years so we’re gearing up for high school graduation, college applications, and helping him figure out his plans come fall. Even with all of this excitement going on, I still plan to read a bunch of books and cram in as many manga as I can manage!
The TBR List

These aren’t the only books I’ll be reading this month, but they are the ones I’m committing to.
Ninth House & Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo- I originally planned to read these in January but Book of the Month messed up my order which delayed me getting Ninth House until February.
Island of the Lost by Joan Druett – 2023 will be the year of 1800’s ship wreck stories.
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas – I’m about 30% through and honestly, I just want to be done with it. It’s slow and boring so far.
Queen’s Peril by EK Johnston – An exciting glimpse into Padme and her time as Queen Amidala. I love Star Wars.
The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz – Book of the Month let me down in choices for February so I picked this one because it looked the most interesting. I don’t know much except that it’s supposed to be a sapphic thriller with lots of sex?
Sister, Maiden, Monster by Lucy A. Snyder – A pandemic book but female-focused and full of horrors! I can’t wait to read this one!
D&D: Honor Among Thieves: The Road to Neverwinter by Jaleigh Johnson – I’m hoping for big things in this Dungeons and Dragons prequel story.
Siege of Stone by Terry Goodkind – I’m about half way through the Nicci Chonicles and I just want to get them off my list. They have been mostly a let down, but I want to finish them this year since I’ve loved most of Goodkind’s other books in the Richard & Kahlan world and I need to know how they end.
This month, I also want to tell you about this amazing online book community I’m a part of, which is run by Alexandra Roslyn. She made the TBR template I’m using for this month’s list of to-be-reads. If you are into books, cozy friendships, and exciting bookish events all month long, be sure to check her out. You can find her on Youtube or her Patreon called The Foxenwood Society (book club). If you join her Patreon, you get access to her Discord channel where you can connect with loads of other readers, participate in book club reads, and join some fun events like hosted read-a-thons!
