Welcome to WWW Wednesday! It was originally hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm but is now run by Taking On A World Of Words.
WWW Wednesday is simple, just answer 3 questions about reading:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
You can post a link to your blog on Taking On A World of Word’s blog post for the week so other readers can see what you’re working on, and check out your blog!
What are you currently reading?
Audiobook:
Ascension by Nicholas Binge came out yesterday and I’ve jumped right in. So far, I have to say that it’s really interesting and not what I thought it’d be. I’m not far enough yet to say whether or not it’s a winner but so far it’s kept my interest. And, this one gets right up in your face with the unknown monster… no creeping around in the periphery, this one is out in the open!
Physical:
I started From the Grave by Kresley Cole. I’m barely started and so far it’s just been Evie and Aric (and some sad Lark) puttering around in the castle… let’s get to the action already, sheesh. Also, I don’t know how I feel about this whole pregnancy thing. And no, I’m not calling that a spoiler because the previous book came out sooo long ago, and if you’re into the series, it’s old news by now. Anyways, I want to finish by Sunday night. I have a whole TBR going right now and I don’t want to spend too much time on YA books!
What did you recently finish reading?
Getting back into reading (and balancing studying, working, and podcasts!). I finished 4 last week:
The Wager by David Grann – Review here – This one hit the old-ships & shipwrecks spot right on the head! Great read and its a TRUE story!
The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England by Brandon Sanderson – Review here – Loved every second of this. I am a HUGE fan of genre mashing extravaganzas and this one did it perfectly. Science Fiction in my Fantasy?
A MILLION TIMES YES!
Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer – no review – I didn’t really have any feelings about this book in either direction so I decided not to rate it. I’d original tried reading it but it didn’t mesh with me, so I tried (and finished) the audiobook and it was very meh. Not good, but not bad, just not for me. And, that’s okay! I won’t review a book like this because I don’t have any praises or criticisms so really nothing to say.
1922 by Stephen King – Review here – This was a quick listen at work. It was originally published in a short story anthology but later published solo. It was an interesting story set in the early 1920’s and I felt King captured that era really well.
What do you think you’ll read next?
My TBR for the next week:
For You and Only You by Caroline Kepnes – Joe is back and I’m ready to see what he’s up to next! NEW RELEASE.
The Way of the Bear by Anne Hillerman – Another installment in the Navajo mystery series. I am interested in hearing more about Bear’s Ears. I have a family member who has dedicated his professional life to saving the sacred place. NEW RELEASE.
Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo – I’m going to finally get this one going. I swear…
That’s all I’ve got for WWW Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by!
