This week’s Book Blogger Hop prompt for May 5th – 11th is:

“Have you ever been told that you have an excessive number of books? If so, what was your reaction?”

Answer:

Actually, yes. We own (at last count a while ago…) over 650 books. Someone one asked me just how many we had and when I told them, they were shocked and asked why anyone would have so many. They weren’t mean or judging, but more surprised.

I just laughed and agreed that it’s quite a few.

Usually, people who react with surprise at our library are people who don’t actively engage in reading as a hobby. I’d probably react similarly if I went to their house and found out they collected 650 Blu-Ray movies or Funko figurines.
